Be proactive when deciding the event date, location, flyers, and marketing strategies.  Set attainable goals for the entire team to achieve.

 

Design flyers on your own with simple words, interesting pictures, and fun logos, rather than an outside company.

It is helpful to invite International members into the group. They motivate other international students to join in the event and contribute unique ideas.

 

If possible, hold group meetings to discuss the details of your event at least once a week.

 

Choose group members with relatively professional skills, abilities, and experience. Motivate each other.

 

Keep in contact with each registered teams to make sure they know the rules and event logistics.

A week night event may be more successful than a weekend event. Consider athletic events, hoildays, long weekends, etc. that may interfere with your event.

 

Make schedules, agendas, checklists, assigned tasks, and progress reports available for each member.

 

​Make sure each team member understands their responsibilities.

Keep calm and positive during group discussions.  It is OK if others have different viewpoints and ideas.
